How To Get Statement Hair

by Schwarzkopf AU

When you want to make a statement, your hair colour can be the ultimate accessory. The lovely and charismatic Carissa Walford wanted to go bold and really change up her look with a copper tone - we were there to help!

The new Fiery Topaz in the Brilliance Gems Collection was the perfect shade for Carissa to go bold. We utilised Carissa’s current colour to create an ombre effect. You can expect to achieve a deeper copper on the roots, and a more vibrant effect on the pre-lightened hair.

Love Carissa’s new coppery tones? Follow these 4 easy steps to get the look and make your own statement.

Step 1: Mix

The first step is to mix the Colour Crème and Diamond Gloss Serum into the application bottle. For application with a brush, we recommend mixing all ingredients in a plastic bowl.

Depending on the length of your hair, you may need multiple boxes. We used 2 x boxes for Carissa’s application & mixed up both at beginning of the process.

Step 2: Apply

In order to apply the colour evenly and cleanly, first part your hair into 4 sections from the forehead to the nape, and from ear to ear. To prevent any colour staining on the skin, add moisturiser on the skin around the hairline.

Apply one full box of formula to the re-growth area only. Once covered, immediately smudge the colour from re-growth to mid-lengths, leaving approximately 10 cm of the ends colour free. Smudge as quickly as possible using the 2nd box/ more colour as required, and then leave in for 10 minutes.

After these 10 minutes, smudge from mid-length all the way through to ends. Only add more product if needed. Leave this to process for a further 10 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse

Apply warm water to the hair and work into a lather. Massage around the hairline to prevent staining. Rinse until water runs clear.

Step 4: Seal & Style

On towel-dried hair, apply Colour Shine Conditioner to seal in the colour. Leave this in for 2 minutes, then rinse from the hair. Afterwards, apply a heat protector before drying hair and style as usual.
